Genetic Traits

Genetic traits are characteristics passed down from parents to offspring through genes, which are segments of DNA. These traits can determine physical features, like eye color or height, as well as certain behaviors and predispositions to health conditions. Each person inherits a unique combination of genes, influencing their traits. Traits can be dominant, where one copy is enough to express the characteristic, or recessive, requiring two copies. Environmental factors also play a role in how traits manifest. Understanding genetic traits helps us appreciate the diversity in individuals and informs fields like medicine, agriculture, and evolutionary biology.
