General Władysław Sikorski

General Władysław Sikorski was a prominent Polish military leader and politician during World War II. Born in 1881, he served as the commander of Polish forces and became Prime Minister of the Polish government-in-exile after Poland was invaded by Germany and the Soviet Union in 1939. Sikorski worked to rally support for Poland among the Allies and played a critical role in maintaining Polish sovereignty during the war. His leadership was marked by efforts to unite various Polish factions and secure military aid. Tragically, he died in an airplane crash in 1943, which remains shrouded in controversy.
