Galactic Coordinate System

The Galactic Coordinate System is a way to describe locations in our Milky Way galaxy, similar to how latitude and longitude work on Earth. In this system, the center of the galaxy is the reference point. The coordinates are expressed in two main values: "galactic longitude," which measures the angle around the galaxy from the center, and "galactic latitude," which measures how far above or below the galactic plane an object is. This system helps astronomers locate stars, planets, and other celestial phenomena relative to our galaxy's structure.
