G8
The G8, or Group of Eight, was an international forum of eight major advanced economies—Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States—that met annually to discuss global economic issues, security, and political concerns. It aimed to foster cooperation among these leading nations to address worldwide challenges. In 2014, Russia's suspension reduced it to the G7. The G8 does not have decision-making authority but serves as a platform for dialogue and consensus-building among some of the world's most influential economies.
