Front de Libération Nationale

The Front de Libération Nationale (FLN) is a political and military organization that played a central role in Algeria's struggle for independence from France. Founded in 1954, the FLN led a guerrilla war, political efforts, and negotiation to achieve Algerian sovereignty. It became the ruling party of independent Algeria and sought to promote Arab nationalism, anti-colonialism, and social reforms. The FLN's actions significantly shaped Algeria’s modern history, transitioning from an insurgent group to the country’s dominant political force after independence in 1962.
