Frente Farabundo Martí para la Liberación Nacional
Frente Farabundo Martí para la Liberación Nacional (FMLN) is a leftist political party in El Salvador, originally formed during the Salvadoran Civil War as a coalition of five guerrilla groups fighting against the military dictatorship and social inequality in the 1980s. Named after revolutionary leader Farabundo Martí, the FMLN transitioned into a political party after the war ended in 1992 with a peace agreement. It has since engaged in electoral politics, advocating for social justice, economic reform, and the rights of marginalized groups, although it has faced challenges related to governance and political opposition.
