Fort Craig

Fort Craig was a military installation in New Mexico, established in 1854 to protect travelers and settlers along the Santa Fe Trail. It played a significant role during the American Civil War, serving as a supply depot and point of mobilization for Union forces. The fort was strategically located near the Rio Grande, which helped control the region.
