Formoterol
Formoterol is a medication used primarily to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It belongs to a class of drugs known as long-acting beta-agonists (LABAs). Formoterol works by relaxing the muscles in the airways, making it easier to breathe. It is often used as a maintenance treatment, meaning it's taken regularly to help control symptoms and prevent breathing difficulties. Formoterol could be combined with inhaled corticosteroids to help enhance its effect. However, it should not be used alone for managing asthma attacks, as it doesn’t provide quick relief for sudden symptoms.
