Fencing gear includes specialized equipment designed to ensure safety and enhance performance in the sport of fencing. Key items are the mask, which protects the face and eyes; the jacket, a padded garment that guards the torso; and the gloves, which allow for grip while safeguarding the hands. Fencers also wear underarm protectors and knickers, along with socks and fencing shoes for mobility. Weapons used in fencing—foil, épée, and sabre—also adhere to specific safety and design standards, with blades made from flexible materials to reduce injury risk during bouts.
