Fawkes
Fawkes refers to Guy Fawkes, a historical figure involved in the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. This was a failed attempt by a group of English Catholics to assassinate King James I and blow up the Houses of Parliament in London. Fawkes was captured while guarding explosives and became a symbol of rebellion against oppression. His legacy is commemorated annually on November 5th, known as Guy Fawkes Night or Bonfire Night, where bonfires and fireworks are used to celebrate the plot’s failure and to reflect on issues of political dissent and resistance.
