Faisal Shahzad is a Pakistani-American who attempted to detonate a car bomb in Times Square, New York City, in May 2010. He was motivated by extremist views and aimed to cause mass casualties. The bomb, however, failed to explode, allowing law enforcement to quickly apprehend him. Shahzad was later sentenced to life in prison for his actions. His case highlights concerns about domestic terrorism, radicalization, and security in urban areas, as well as the ongoing struggle against extremist ideologies.
