Ethical realism

Ethical realism is the philosophical view that moral truths exist independently of our beliefs or perceptions. It asserts that some actions are objectively right or wrong, regardless of individual opinions or cultural norms. Ethical realists argue that moral facts can be discovered and understood, much like scientific facts. For instance, just as we may recognize that something is scientifically true regardless of personal belief, ethical realists maintain that certain moral principles hold true universally. This perspective emphasizes a commitment to the idea that ethics can be grounded in reality, rather than being merely subjective or relative.
