Ethereum Classic

Ethereum Classic is a blockchain platform that emerged from a split in the original Ethereum network in 2016. This split, known as a "hard fork," happened due to a disagreement on how to handle a major hack that stole funds from a project called The DAO. Supporters of Ethereum Classic believe in maintaining the original code and principles of blockchain, emphasizing immutability and decentralization. This means they oppose changing the blockchain to reverse past transactions, while Ethereum (the new version) chose to restore the stolen funds. Ethereum Classic operates its own cryptocurrency, also called ETC.
