Escalators
Escalators are moving stairways designed to transport people between different floors of buildings like malls, airports, or train stations. They consist of a continuous loop of steps that rotate on a track. As they move, individual steps rise or descend, allowing passengers to step on and off easily. Escalators are powered by electric motors and have safety features such as handrails and emergency stop buttons. Unlike elevators, which move vertically in a box, escalators maintain a constant incline, providing a seamless flow of foot traffic in areas where space is limited.
