EPA Brownfields Program

The EPA Brownfields Program is a federal initiative aimed at revitalizing contaminated properties, known as brownfields, where reuse is complicated by pollution concerns. These are often former industrial sites or abandoned buildings. The program provides funding, technical assistance, and guidelines to help local communities assess and clean up these sites. By doing so, it encourages economic development, restores public health, and enhances the environment. Ultimately, the goal is to transform neglected areas into useful, safe spaces for housing, businesses, parks, and other community needs.
