Enheduanna (priestess and poet)

Enheduanna was a prominent ancient Sumerian priestess and poet who lived around 2285–2250 BCE in Mesopotamia, now modern-day Iraq. She held the title of "High Priestess" of the moon god Nanna in the city of Ur. Enheduanna is often regarded as one of the world's first known authors, as she composed hymns and poems that reflected religious devotion and personal emotion. Her work not only contributed to Sumerian literature but also highlighted the roles of women in early civilizations, illustrating the intertwining of religion, politics, and culture in ancient societies.
