English Football League
The English Football League (EFL) is the organization responsible for overseeing professional football (soccer) leagues in England, beneath the top-tier Premier League. It comprises three divisions: the Championship, League One, and League Two, representing various levels of competition. Clubs in the EFL compete for promotion to higher divisions and face the risk of relegation to lower ones based on their performance each season. The EFL also organizes the EFL Cup and EFL Trophy, which are knockout competitions involving teams from its leagues and some from the Premier League. The EFL plays a crucial role in English football's structure and governance.
