Embezzlement
Embezzlement is a type of white-collar crime where a person in a position of trust, such as an employee or manager, unlawfully takes or misuses money or property that they were entrusted to manage on behalf of an organization or individual. This can include stealing company funds, manipulating accounts, or falsifying records to hide theft. Unlike outright theft, embezzlement typically involves deceit and betrayal of trust, as the offender often has legal access to the assets they're misappropriating. Embezzlement is considered a serious offense and can lead to significant legal penalties.
