Ejido
An ejido is a type of communal landholding used in Mexico, where a group of people shares the rights to use and farm a designated piece of land. Instead of owning individual plots outright, community members have the right to cultivate or benefit from the land collectively, while the land itself remains owned by the community or government. This system was established to promote collective farming, social equality, and resource sharing, helping rural populations sustain their livelihoods while preserving land rights within the community.
