Einsatzgruppen

The Einsatzgruppen were Nazi mobile killing units responsible for mass murder, primarily of Jews, during World War II. Operating mainly in Eastern Europe from 1941 onward, their task was to carry out the Nazi regime’s genocidal policies through shootings and other brutal methods. They worked closely with the Nazi military and security forces, systematically targeting civilians, especially Jewish communities, as part of the Holocaust. Their actions resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people and are considered some of the most heinous crimes committed during the war.
