Eclipse
An eclipse occurs when one celestial body moves into the shadow of another, temporarily obscuring it. The most familiar types are solar and lunar eclipses. A solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, blocking the Sun's light. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth is between the Sun and the Moon, causing the Earth’s shadow to cover the Moon. Eclipses can be total, partial, or annular, depending on how completely the light is blocked. These events are significant for scientific observation and have fascinated humans throughout history.
