Echo State Network
An Echo State Network (ESN) is a type of artificial neural network used for processing data over time, such as in speech or weather prediction. It consists of a large, fixed, random network of interconnected nodes (neurons) that create a reservoir of dynamic states. Inputs are fed into this reservoir, where they ripple through and create complex outputs. The key advantage of ESNs is their ability to capture the temporal patterns in data efficiently without needing extensive training, as only the output layer is adjusted. This makes them powerful for tasks where understanding sequences and time is crucial.
