Ebb and Flow System
The Ebb and Flow System, also known as a flood and drain system, is a type of hydroponic gardening used to grow plants without soil. In this system, a growing medium, such as clay pellets, supports the plants. Periodically, water mixed with nutrients is pumped into the growing area to flood it, allowing the roots to absorb nutrients. After a set time, the water drains away, exposing the roots to air. This cycle of flooding and draining helps prevent overwatering while ensuring that plants receive adequate nutrients and oxygen for healthy growth.
