E-selectin

E-selectin is a protein found on the surface of our blood vessel cells, especially when these cells are inflamed or injured. Its main role is to help white blood cells—our body's defenders—stick to the blood vessel walls and move toward areas of damage or infection. This process is essential for the immune response, as it allows immune cells to reach and help heal affected tissues. E-selectin acts as a sort of molecular “guide,” aiding in targeted immune activity and supporting the body's defense mechanisms during inflammation.
