Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)
Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) is a method used by software applications to communicate and share data in real-time. It allows one program to send information to another, enabling them to work together smoothly. For example, if you have a spreadsheet open, DDE can let it automatically update data from a database or another application without needing manual input. This makes it easier to keep information consistent across different programs, enhancing efficiency in tasks that require collaboration between software tools. DDE was more popular in earlier computing but has largely been replaced by newer technologies.
