DTP Vaccine

The DTP vaccine is a combination immunization that protects against three serious diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough). Diphtheria is a bacterial infection affecting the throat, tetanus (lockjaw) is caused by a toxin from bacteria found in soil, and pertussis is a highly contagious respiratory disease. The vaccine works by introducing inactivated toxins or weakened bacteria, prompting the immune system to build protection without causing the diseases.
