Dr. James Bradley was an influential 18th-century British astronomer known for his contributions to the field of astronomy, particularly for his discovery of the phenomenon called "stellar aberration." This occurs due to the combined effects of the Earth's motion and the speed of light, causing stars to appear slightly shifted from their true positions. He also measured the distance from Earth to various celestial bodies and was one of the first to provide evidence of the Earth's motion around the Sun. His work laid important foundations for modern astronomy and increased our understanding of the universe.
