Distillation Process

Distillation is a process used to separate mixtures based on different boiling points. It involves heating a liquid to create vapor, then cooling the vapor back into a liquid. As the mixture heats, the component with the lower boiling point evaporates first. This vapor is captured and condensed back into a liquid in a separate container, resulting in a purer substance. Distillation is commonly used to produce alcohol, purify water, and create essential oils, allowing for the extraction of valuable components while leaving impurities behind.
