Discrete Signals

Discrete signals are representations of information that exist only at specific intervals or points in time, rather than continuously. Think of a digital photograph: it’s made up of distinct pixels, each capturing a specific color and brightness at precise locations. Similarly, discrete signals, like those in digital audio or video, sample continuous sounds or images at regular intervals, converting them into a sequence of values. This allows for easier storage, transmission, and processing in devices like computers and smartphones, while still maintaining the essential information of the original signal.
