Dengue
Dengue is a viral infection transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, primarily Aedes aegypti. It causes symptoms like high fever, severe headaches, joint and muscle pain, rash, and fatigue. In some cases, it can progress to severe dengue, leading to serious health issues like bleeding and organ failure. Dengue is most common in tropical and subtropical regions. There is no specific treatment, so prevention focuses on controlling mosquito populations and reducing bites, such as using insect repellent and eliminating standing water. Vaccines are available in some countries for individuals who have had a prior dengue infection.
