Deccan Sultans

The Deccan Sultans were Muslim rulers who governed parts of the Deccan region in central and southern India from the 14th to 17th centuries. They established several powerful kingdoms, such as the Bahmani Sultanate and the Bijapur Sultanate, known for their military strength, rich culture, and role in promoting art, architecture, and trade. These sultans often competed with each other and with neighboring kingdoms, shaping the history and culture of the Indian subcontinent during that period. Their influence declined as larger empires, like the Mughals, expanded into the region.
