Deaflympics

The Deaflympics is an international, multi-sport event specifically for athletes who are deaf or hard of hearing. Established in 1924, it is one of the oldest sporting events after the Olympics. The competition includes a wide range of sports, and athletes participate without the use of hearing aids or other hearing devices. The Deaflympics aims to promote inclusivity and showcase the talents and dedication of deaf athletes, fostering understanding and respect for their abilities. The event is governed by the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) and occurs every four years, separate from the Olympic Games.
