
David Trimble (Queen's University Belfast)
David Trimble was a prominent Northern Irish politician and leader of the Ulster Unionist Party. He played a key role in the peace process that led to the Good Friday Agreement in 1998, which helped bring an end to decades of conflict known as "The Troubles" in Northern Ireland. Trimble served as the First Minister of Northern Ireland and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1998 alongside John Hume for their efforts in promoting peace and reconciliation.
