Dadabhai Naoroji
Dadabhai Naoroji was an Indian scholar, politician, and social reformer in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Often called the “Grand Old Man of India,” he was a pioneer in advocating for Indian independence from British rule. Naoroji was the first Indian to become a Member of the British Parliament, using his position to highlight India's economic exploitation and call for fair treatment. He also promoted education and social reforms. His famous concept, the “Drain of Wealth,” explained how Britain benefited at India’s expense, sparking ideas that fueled the independence movement.
