Cursive script (Caoshu)
Cursive script, known as Caoshu in Chinese, is a style of writing that prioritizes speed and fluidity over precision. Commonly used by calligraphers, it features flowing, connected strokes and often omits or simplifies certain characters. This makes it less legible than other scripts, like regular script (Kaishu), but it conveys a sense of artistic expression and spontaneity. Caoshu is often admired for its aesthetic qualities and is used in creative contexts, such as art and poetry, where the visual impression is as important as the readability of the text.
