The Cullinan Diamond, discovered in South Africa in 1905, is the largest gem-quality diamond ever found, weighing 3,106 carats. After its discovery, it was cut into several smaller diamonds, the largest of which became known as the Cullinan I or the Great Star of Africa, weighing 530 carats. This diamond is now part of the British Crown Jewels.
