Craniometry
Craniometry is the scientific study of measuring skulls. It involves analyzing dimensions and shapes to understand human variation, evolution, and relationships among different populations. Historically, craniometry was used in early anthropological studies and sometimes misleadingly linked to notions of intelligence or racial differences. While modern genetics and anthropology have moved beyond such simplistic interpretations, craniometry can still provide insights into human anatomy, health, and the developmental influences of environment and culture on skull shape. Today, it is approached with caution and a focus on ethical considerations.
