County of Tripoli
The County of Tripoli was a Crusader state established in the early 12th century in what is now northern Lebanon. Founded during the First Crusade, it became one of several Christian territories in the Levant, alongside others like the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Tripoli served as a key trading hub and strategic port, playing a vital role in the Crusaders' efforts to maintain their presence in the region. The county faced constant challenges from Muslim forces but lasted until the late 13th century, when it fell to the Mamluks, marking the end of significant Crusader influence in the area.
