Council of Australian Governments (COAG)

The Council of Australian Governments (COAG) was a cooperative body established in 1992, comprising the federal, state, and territory governments of Australia. Its purpose was to improve collaboration and coordination across different levels of government on major issues such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure. COAG met regularly to discuss policies and work towards national objectives, helping to ensure that governments worked together effectively for the benefit of all Australians. In 2020, COAG was replaced by the National Cabinet, which includes the Prime Minister and state and territory leaders, continuing the spirit of cooperation.
