Conant's Syndrome
Conant's Syndrome, also known as Cushing's Disease, is a condition caused by an excess of cortisol, a hormone produced by the adrenal glands. This excess often results from a tumor in the pituitary gland, which prompts the adrenal glands to produce more cortisol. Symptoms may include rapid weight gain, especially around the face and abdomen, high blood pressure, and mood changes. It affects the body's ability to regulate stress and metabolism, leading to various health issues. Treatment typically involves surgery to remove the tumor, medication, or radiation therapy to manage cortisol levels.
