Comunidades Eclesiais de Base
Comunidades Eclesiais de Base, or Base Ecclesial Communities, are small, grassroots groups of Christians, primarily in Latin America, who come together to pray, share their faith, and discuss social issues within their communities. Originating in the 1960s, these communities emphasize participation, social justice, and a collective response to local challenges, often inspired by liberation theology. They serve as a means for marginalized individuals to find support, strengthen their spiritual lives, and advocate for social change, fostering a sense of community and empowerment among members.
