Community Emergency Response Teams
Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) are trained groups of volunteers who assist their local communities in times of disaster or emergency. They receive education in basic disaster response skills, such as first aid, fire safety, and search and rescue. CERT members help assess needs, provide immediate assistance, and support first responders during crises. Their training empowers individuals to take action before professional help arrives, fostering resilience and safety within the community. By working together, CERT encourages preparedness, promotes awareness, and builds stronger, more responsive neighborhoods in the face of emergencies.
