Local Emergency Management Agencies (LEMA)
Local Emergency Management Agencies (LEMA) are government organizations at the community level dedicated to preparing for, responding to, and recovering from emergencies and disasters, such as natural disasters, public health issues, or terrorism. They coordinate resources, develop emergency plans, conduct training exercises, and engage with the community to promote safety and resilience. LEMAs work closely with other agencies, organizations, and local governments to ensure an organized response during emergencies and to help rebuild afterward. Their goal is to protect lives, property, and the environment through effective planning and collaboration.
