Community Emergency Response Team
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a program designed to prepare community members to assist during emergencies and disasters. It trains volunteers in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, search and rescue, and first aid. These trained individuals can help their neighbors and local emergency services when crises occur, especially when official help may be delayed. CERT empowers communities to be more resilient and effective in managing emergencies by building knowledge, skills, and teamwork, ensuring that residents are better equipped to protect themselves and others during unforeseen events.
