Combustion Chemistry

Combustion chemistry is the study of chemical reactions that occur when a substance, typically a fuel, reacts with oxygen to produce heat, light, and new chemical products. This process includes the burning of materials like wood, coal, or gasoline. When combustion happens, bonds in the fuel break, releasing energy and forming gases like carbon dioxide and water vapor. Complete combustion occurs when there is enough oxygen, producing more efficient energy. Incomplete combustion, however, can produce harmful products like carbon monoxide. Understanding this process is essential for energy production, environmental impact, and safety.
