Collecivization

Collectivization refers to the process of consolidating individual landholdings and resources into collective farms or groups, often initiated by governments to increase agricultural efficiency and maximize productivity. This approach was notably implemented in the Soviet Union during the late 1920s and 1930s under Joseph Stalin. The goal was to boost food production and facilitate industrialization, but it often led to resistance from farmers, widespread famine, and significant social upheaval. Collectivization aimed to transform agrarian economies into modern, socialist economies but frequently resulted in severe human and economic costs.
