Clovis I
Clovis I was a significant king of the Franks, ruling from around 481 to 511 AD. He is known for uniting various Frankish tribes under one kingdom and is often credited with being the first king of what would become modern France. Clovis converted to Christianity around 496, aligning his reign with the Catholic Church, which helped strengthen his rule and influence in Europe. His legacy includes the establishment of the Merovingian dynasty and a foundation for the future of the French state. Clovis is often regarded as a pivotal figure in early medieval European history.
