Chatelperronian culture
Chatelperronian culture refers to a prehistoric tool-making tradition that existed in parts of Europe around 35,000 to 30,000 years ago, during the Upper Paleolithic period. Characterized by distinctive stone tools, particularly blades and ornate personal items like pendants, it is seen as a transitional phase. The culture is often associated with Neanderthals, and it exhibits influences from both Neanderthal and early modern human cultures. Archaeological findings suggest that it involved complex behaviors, such as symbolic expression and possibly some form of social organization, highlighting the cognitive capabilities of its creators in a time of significant human evolution.
