Cervical Dystonia

Cervical dystonia is a neurological condition characterized by involuntary muscle contractions in the neck, leading to abnormal postures and movements. This can cause the head to tilt or turn in abnormal directions, often resulting in discomfort or pain. The exact cause is not fully understood, but it may involve problems with the brain’s signals to the muscles. Treatment options include medications, physical therapy, and in some cases, injections of botulinum toxin (Botox) to help relax the muscles. While it is not life-threatening, cervical dystonia can significantly impact daily activities and quality of life.
