Caucasian leopard
The Caucasian leopard, also known as the Persian leopard, is a large wild cat native to the Caucasus region, spanning parts of Russia, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. These leopards are known for their beautiful, thick fur spotted with black rosettes, helping them blend into their mountainous habitat. They are solitary animals, primarily nocturnal, and are skilled hunters, preying on deer, wild boar, and other mammals. With their populations declining due to habitat loss and poaching, they are considered vulnerable. Conservation efforts are underway to protect this majestic species and its natural environment.
